Meeting in May

Let's see if we can carve out a time in May to get together.  

Back when we were getting together regularly, we would meet the 2nd Thursday of every month.  But that's passed already for May.

Bilal has said "It should be possible to use our meeting room. We are located in Indian Land, SC now. Close to the big Wal-Mart in Ballentyne."

Marc Stowe has offered to do a presentation in June, so I think we need a place where we can meet on a semi-regular basis.

What do you think about getting together this Thursday at 6pm?  I know it would be the 3rd Thursday, but I'm just putting up a trial balloon at this point.

Two meetups in Charlotte this week

I thought I'd pass along some info that there are two meetups in Charlotte this week.

There is a Charlotte JavaScript meetup at Skookum on Thursday and a brand new meetup being formed Charlotte Game Dev where they are going to take a look at HTML5 Game Dev Libraries on Wednesday at the Microsoft Charlotte Office.

I approached Doug Hughes about having regularly scheduled Google hangouts to discuss things that I knew I should be doing, but have never gotten around to doing them yet.  Putting projects up on Github and using Test Driven Development are things that I should be doing.

So we’ve had two sessions where I’ve exposed holes in my development cycle.  I’m doing this a) to close said holes, but also b) to build a community of people that want to learn (and in the future share) how to become better developers.

So come join us in a Googles hangout Wednesday around 3:00pm EST.

Online Coldbox training all this week

Team ColdBox has organized "ColdBox Developers Week" which is a full week of free online training for ColdFusion developers scheduled July 23rd through July 27th.  ColdBox is a widely-used MVC Development Platform for ColdFusion and they do their best to provide accessible training for ColdFusion developers to learn best-practices, scalability, unit testing and more.
